Bola Olusanya is a Nigerian-American designer, born and raised in Houston, Texas, to immigrant parents from West Africa. His work draws on a wide range of influences, from literature and architecture to music and history, balancing imaginative ideas with the structure to bring them to life. That instinct is sharpened by a Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

He founded theDesigning Worlds Lab (DW-L) with a bigger ambition than a studio: a practice built to operate as a design firm, research lab, and eventually a school, where institutional-scale work and personal creative projects fund and inform one another rather than compete. At the center of it is a belief that art and design shape how a society sees and understands itself. DW-L's work is built around improving that cultural narrative, using creative expression as a way of reframing how people engage with the world around them. He's currently based in Tokyo, furthering his design education while building DW-L from the ground up.
